Welcome to the Players Archive.

In an attempt to make the Players data as accessible as possible we have created a number of pre-set searches that we believe will be of great interest. As well as listing all past players we have also included as many active members and volunteers as possible.

  • To begin there are some single-click options that will show all Players in the database or just the top 100 in certain categories.
  • Below these, at 'Search 5', you can search for all players that represented the club between certain years.
  • Finally, there is a full text search of all the main parts of the stored information.

The club anticipates it will take some considerable time to research and input all the information for each and every player and, to this end, you may well be able to help. As you browse the records you will see where there is information missing - information that the club may simply not have. If you have specific details or pictures of any past players that you think could be of use to this project then the club would be most grateful to receive them. Finally, remember there are a lot of records and that some of the searches may take a short time to process. Once you have clicked on a button please refrain from clicking again - the results will appear after a brief pause.

To see some of the more complete Player records please limit your search to the current First and Second teams, examples of which are Carrick Wharmby, Tim Green or Jonny Hume.

Search 5 - Show all Members that played between two dates.
To search for Members that played between certain dates please enter a start and end date in the two boxes provided below then press Search. Please note that the date must be in the format YYYY eg 1997 and that the earliest year goes in the first box. No records will be returned if the fields are left blank - you will be simply returned back to this page. To find records that have players either starting or retiring in a particular year simply enter the same figures in both boxes.

Search 6 - Search Player records for specific phrases or names.
This search is designed to look for words or phrases within the information stored about the players and gives the best results when complete words are entered in the box below. If you want to search for people by the name of Smith then type Smith, not 'smit' or 'smi' as partial words are not supported. Records will be in the order of what the system thinks is the most relevant at the top. Common words such as and, if or but (for example) and words of three letters or less will be ignored. The more accurate your request the better the results are likely to be.
